Produktinformationen "Simon Brown Glen Elgin Malt Whisky 0,70l"

Die Glen Elgin Distillery wurde im Jahre 1898 vom James Carle und einem ehemaligen Manager von Glenfarclas, William Simpson gegründet. Mit Engagement begann man im Mai 1900 mit der Whiskydestillation, aber schon nach nur fünf Monaten musste die Produktion eingestellt werden. Im Februar 1901 wurde die Brennerei für viertausend Pfund Sterling auf einer Auktion an die Glen Elgin Glenlivet Distillery Co veräußert, aber auch die nächsten Jahren sollten turbulent für Glen Elgin weiter verlaufen. Das Wasser für die Brennerei stammt aus Millbuies Loch und es wird mit drei Wash Stills und drei Spirit Stills gebrannt.
Goldfarben - im Bukett geprägt von Honig und Kräutern in der Nase, zarte Früchte und ein wenig Malz - vollfruchtig auf der Zunge, reife Pflaumen und andere Früchte, Gewürze, Malz und ein wenig Toffee - angenehmes harmonisches Finish.
