In the meantime Mortlach Distillery is one of six distilleries in Dufftown. It was founded in 1823 and the whisky can be described in the short term as: flowery, peaty, smoky and malty. The distillery works with 3 wash stills and 3 spirit stills and uses the water from springs of the Conval Hills.
Golden yellow in appearance - complex bouquet, flowery, fruity, remembers to pear and apricot, supplemented by nut and peat - likely full-bodied on the palate, you'll find aromas of fruit, nut, peat and hints of vanilla and toast - long, multifaceted final.
