Product information "Simon Brown Auchroisk Whisky Port 43% 0,70l"
The distillery was built between 1972-1974 by International Distillers & Vintners Ltd (IDV). Originally, the distillery was built to distil malt whisky for Scotch Blended Whisky. However, the quality of the Auchroisk whisky was so good that in 1978 it was decided to fill a Singleton Particular with 43%.
The water, belonging to the Speyside region of the Highlands, comes from the Dorie‘s Spring. The malt is sourced from Pauls Malt in Carnoustie. The distillery uses 1 mash tun made of stainless steel and 8 wash backs, distilled in 4 wash stills and 4 spirit stills.
This Auchroisk spent his first maturity in former bourbon barrels before disappearing for a long time into a former port wine barrel.
Amber in colour with reddish tendencies - floral, like flower meadow, subtle fruity, apples and pears, honey and a hint of wood in the nose - full-bodied, ripe, partly dried fruits, raisins, delicate spices and fine wood on the tongue - pleasant, delicate port finish.
