Tomintoul is a whisky distillery near Ballindalloch, Moray, Scotland and is located in the Speyside region. She was founded in 1964 by W & S Strong and Hay & MacLeod in Ballindalloch, bought in 1973 by White & Mackay, who are also responsible for the expansion from two to four stills, and sold to Angus Dundee Distillers in 2000. The Tomintoul Distillery distils with two wash stills and two spirit stills and draws its water from the nearby Ballantruan Spring. There are about 116,000 casks in the distillery‘s warehouses.
Warm golden glow - delicate, fine, honey, cream, traces of fennel, malt and toasted aromas - a delicious seduction of vanilla, fine creamy malt and wood with a delicate natural sweetness - slightly dry, peppery finish.
