A classic case of a mainland malt whose coastal location imparts an island character. Clynelish Distillery is situated near the town of Brora and is characterized by a medium peat level. The distillery stands alone in the middle of the Highland coast and was founded in 1819 by the Duke of Sutherland.
The malt is pale golden in appearance - shows seaweed, salt and peat in the nose - medium bodied, oily, malty, spicy and smooth on the palate.
