Bruichladdich distillery, established in 1881, is situated at the north shore of the Loch Indaal, directly across the water to Bowmore. The water, which is needed in the distillation process, rises from a hillside spring, and flows over a bog. It is less peaty than the water of many other distilleries. Unlike other Islay distilleries, Bruichladdich isn't situated at the sea, nowadays it's the most westerly working distillery in Scotland.
This 15 years old Bruichladdich appears golden in the glass - a hint of seaweed in the nose, relatively full - medium bodied, smooth, lightly peaty with salty notes - delicious, warm and long finish.
