The Balblair Distillery is situated in Tain, in the northern Highlands, not far away from Glenmorangie. It was founded in 1790 by John Ross. Near the Dornoch Firth at Edderton, in the peaty lowland and between the sheep-runs, Balblair Distillery produces gentle and delicate whiskies with one washstill and one spiritstill. The water comes from the ?The Allt Dearg?, flows over a bog and at the distillery it?ll be taken out of a beck.

Brilliant amber in colour - a fine, fresh start in the nose, remembers to white fruit, hints of smoke and peat - the light body shows its smooth character on the palate - in the aftertaste the whisky is restrained and gentle.
